Bed Sharing Is Not Safe When...

  • Any adult in the bed has used drugs, including prescription, or alchohol
  • Any adult in the bed is excessively tired
  • Any adult in the bed is obese
  • It occurs on a soft/pillowtop mattress, a sofa, couch, chair, or a waterbed
  • There are excessive blankets and pillows and/or these items are not securely away from the babies face
  • There are loose items in the bed such as toys, stuffed animals, or clothing
  • There are cords on or near the bed
  • There is space between the mattress and the wall where the child could become lodge in
  • There is nothing to protect your child from falling off the bed 
  • Your child is left alone
  • Mom smoked during pregnancy (Another great reason to quit!)
  • Another child is allowed in the bed with no adult between them and the infant

The Importance of Rear-Facing Car Seats


Please Remember: 1 Year and 20lbs. is the minimum legal requirement to keep your child rear-facing. Your child is much safer remaining rear-facing for as long as they fit into the car seats maximum range.

About The Fruitful Momma

I am a 30yo Christian wife, homekeeper, and momma to 5 children, ages 9yo to 1yo. Mostly girls. Some of them were born at home. A couple of them weren’t. All of them were breastfed. For a long time. I can’t sleep without my babies in my bed. I can sleep while breastfeeding them. We discovered cloth diaper love when our third child was a few months old. We have a half dozen baby carriers, but always reach for the Ergo. We are anti-vax troublemakers. We rarely go to the doctor and prefer herbs to chemical concoctions. We are gluten-free. We believe baby’s lives, not women’s “choices”, should be protected. We want 20 children. Seriously. No, we aren’t Roman Catholic or Morman. Yes, we know what, or rather Who, causes it. We ditched the birth control a long time ago. We don’t even use NFP. Our children are still spaced 2 to 2 1/2 years apart. We will probably adopt. Yep, we’re controversial. Oh, and we homeschool.
